PROGRAM'S BACKGROUND
Despite every effort to eliminate warehousing and the inventory housed within, warehousing will continue to play a critical role in assuring high levels of customer service and overall logistics performance. Warehousing minimizes the effects of supply chain inefficiencies; improves logistics accuracy and inventory management; and allows product accumulation, consolidation, and customization. Warehousing & Inventory Control costs should be commensurate with the contribution to overall logistics & supply chain performance.
The principles and systems described here are common denominators of world-class warehousing & inventory control operations, and have been developed over a decade of logistics research, education and consulting project experience. The program objective is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to develop a warehouse master plan & inventory control to support the corporation's overall logistics & supply chain strategy.
