PROGRAM'S BACKGROUND


Storage facility costs have increased tremendously in recent years and require careful management by analysis monitoring and control as to which stock items are required to be 'at hand' and what are the priorities according to customer needs. Facilities and resources need to be constantly reviewed to maximize and optimize for expected service levels. With the advent of stringent Health and safety regulations to protect employees and the general public the burdens and tasks placed on the warehousing and distribution manager are reliant upon what information he has and how he controls personnel and goods within the warehousing environment or during transit.

This program has been designed to introduce and explain the day-to-day operations and reasons for implementation of good management systems for control and support of public or private organizational requirements.
