PROGRAM'S BACKGROUND

Every now and then, somewhere in the world, a major data center suffers a major breakdown and loss of availability with an average downtime of 16 hours. In nearly every case these breakdowns are avoidable with better management practices and procedures in place. In many cases a large investment had been made in redundant power and cooling systems to prevent failure but poor operational systems meant a failure was inevitable.

This program will teach you how to reduce the chances of your data center becoming the next statistic. The program is derived from our practical experience as auditors for the Internet Exchange which is the largest internet exchange in the world, plus our experience of auditing large data centers and small computer rooms for customers both in the private and public sector around the World. This program will teach you how to measure your data center efficiency, identify where improvements can be made and reduce your CO2 contribution. This comprehensive program will show you how to manage your data center to improve reliability and security and maximize energy efficiency. You will learn exactly what documentation, policies and procedures you should have in place to ensure the smooth running of your facility.
